Significance: This slogan of the Party shows how they use manipulation and false history to make everyone believe something else. Since there is no record of anything that has happened, no one really knows what happened in the past. The Party has taken complete control over what people think about that past,present and future. The people have no other choice but to believe what they hear and assume that they are doing the right thing.
